Food-TruckHub ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Food-TruckHub mobile and web application (the "App"). This policy applies to all users of Food-TruckHub, including visitors, registered users, and food truck vendors.

a. Information You Provide Directly

When you create an account or use certain features, we may collect your name, email address, and any other information you voluntarily provide. Vendor accounts may also include business name, phone number, website, social media handles, menu items, pricing, and schedule information.

b. Location Information

With your explicit permission, we collect your precise geographic location (GPS coordinates) to show you food trucks near you and to send proximity-based alerts when a vendor you follow is operating nearby. We request this permission only when you actively use location-based features and display a clear consent prompt before accessing your location. You may revoke location access at any time through your device settings. We do not collect location data in the background.

c. Usage and Analytics Data

We use Umami Analytics, a privacy-focused, cookie-free analytics platform, to understand how users interact with the App. Umami does not collect personally identifiable information, does not use cookies, and is fully compliant with GDPR, CCPA, and PECR. The data collected includes page views, session duration, and general device/browser type — no personal profiles are built.

d. Device and Technical Information

We automatically collect certain technical information when you use the App, including your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, and device identifiers. This information is used solely for security, fraud prevention, and improving App performance.

e. Payment Information

If you subscribe to a paid vendor plan, payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe, Inc. We do not store your full credit card number, CVV, or other sensitive payment details on our servers. We retain only a Stripe customer ID and subscription status to manage your account. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.

f. User-Generated Content

If you submit reviews, ratings, photos, or vendor requests through the App, that content is stored on our servers and may be displayed publicly within the App.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the App and its features
• Show you food trucks and vendors near your location (with your consent)
• Send proximity alerts and in-app notifications you have opted into
• Process vendor subscriptions and manage billing through Stripe
• Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support
• Monitor and analyze usage patterns to improve the App
• Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security incidents
• Comply with applicable laws and legal obligations

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Push Notifications and Alerts

We send in-app notifications only when you have explicitly opted in by tapping "Notify Me When Trucks Are Near." You may disable notifications at any time through your device's notification settings or within the App's alert preferences. We do not send marketing or promotional push notifications without your consent.

4. How We Share Your Information

We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

Service Providers

We share data with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating the App, including Stripe (payment processing), Umami Analytics (privacy-first analytics), and our cloud hosting provider. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and may not use it for their own purposes.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal processes (such as a court order or government request).

Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email or a prominent in-app notice before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Public Vendor Information

Vendor profiles, menus, schedules, and locations that vendors mark as "public" are displayed to all App users and may be indexed by search engines. Vendors control what information is made public through their dashboard.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at [email protected]. We will process deletion requests within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain certain records.

6. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, rate limiting, input validation, and server-side security headers. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
